On June 8th, 2022, the Three Sisters team visited the 4-H club at Oneida. We started the day with a review of previous workshop information, asking participants what they’d learned and what they were excited or curious about for this new workshop. After that, we walked out to the field to plant squash, cabbage, beans, tomatoes, berry bushes, and other native plants. The team took this opportunity to demonstrate soil prep (adding nutrients, setting up irrigation, mulching), direct sowing and transplanting, planting depth and distances, and plant care basics. After that, we took time for questions and passed out information pamphlets and seeds for rematriation!
